Friday's Fabulous Find brings you something to watch!

I know it can be overwhelming with which videographer to use to capture all of the special moments in your wedding.  You might ask yourself, "who can I trust?"  There are a lot of amazing videographers in our city!  I would like to share one of them with you:

Since 2006, Realistically Fictional Productions (RF Productions) has collaborated with countless couples around the world in documenting their wedding with modern, cinematic elegance. An eclectic troupe of young and creative videographers, photographers, and producers has helped RF Productions distinguish itself from other wedding videography and photography vendors in Vancouver.

To showcase just some of the work RF Productions, check out their website:

and click here to watch the lastest video rf Productions created for this DreamGroup Wedding!

If you are anything like me and you can watch wedding video's for hours on end, why not have it be yours!

I know some clients ask "do we really need a videographer if we have a photographer?"

Here are some reasons to hire a videographer:

  1. You won't miss what happend on your wedding day - There is a lot happening on your wedding day and some things you will miss because you might be getting pictures during cocktail reception. Or not be able to see what happened during the "getting ready" process before the ceremony, etc.  A video ensures you wll see the moments you may have missed.
  2. To re-live your wedding day experience - To watch the beautiful memories again.
  3. Your kids and grandkids will watch it and love it!
  4. A video will show movement and the different sounds that filled your day, especially with those who you love dearly; parents and grandparents.

Happy Watching...

Wedding Wednesday: Tip of the Week...What the Pros Want You to Know, part 3

DG's 12 Week Series: Tips from the Pros...

Videography:

Don't book a videographer on just his wedding trailer alone. Ask to watch a video of his or her finished product. How many times have you watched a great movie trailer & then been disappointed with the actual movie? And don't settle for excuses when you first meet with a videographer for a consultation. i.e. “The reason you can't hear the vows is because the minister wouldn't let the camera man stand close enough to the altar.” Or “The footage is shaky because we were shooting from really far away.” These are all just excuses for lack of experience or poor production practices.

And remember, you get what you pay for! If you are paying $400 for all-day coverage don’t be surprised if the end result shows choppy footage, poor sound, bad lighting, and inconsistent editing. Professional videography starts at around $200/hr & up… if it costs less, be suspicious. Post production takes anywhere from 20-60 hours… that’s what you are paying for! Not just the 6-10 hours of filming on the day!

Katie & Matt - August 7, 2010

The stunning wedding of Katie & Matt was captured in video by Laura Ann Cinema.

Principal Planner, Sarah Shore, orchestrated this couple's dream wedding this past summer at their home in West Vancouver.  The experience of planning with Kate was so much fun and having this wedding come to life was incredible.

Check out the amazing photos by Jeff Ow, of Studi-O which are currently featured on the WedLuxe blog.  Here's a taste of a couple of our favorites:

" Dreams do come true... "

Aug 7th 2010 was the most incredible day of our lives. I've always dreamed of having a " Fairytale Wedding "

It was an honor to have such an amazing team.

Sarah Shore from Dreamgroup Productions, is so unbelievably talented and because of her, our dream wedding became reality. Not only is she a professional wedding planner, but along the way she became a true friend. She is so gifted, and without a doubt, she will be our planner indefinitely. There are no words to thank her enough for all the time and effort she put into our very special day. Her Ideas we're so above and beyond what I imagined. When I described my designs to her, she put them to life. The energy and motivation Sarah has most definitly reflects on each individual client. I can now fully understand why this company is called Dreamgroup Productions ... A Production of Dreams was witnessed this very day.

Love,
Kate Shull
