Client Expectations Exceeded!...

We just received this wonderful testimonial from the people at Slant Six Games after creating their Launch party for their latest game, Resident Evil: Raccoon City.

It was very cool to see this event come to life!  If you missed the post featuring this one of a kind event, check it out here.

“Sarah and the DreamGroup Productions team know how to create a phenomenal event! This super creative and highly organized team delivered the most memorable, fun and originally themed wrap party for the global release of our video game Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Every detail around the décor, entertainment and food & drinks had been so carefully researched and considered to produce an amazing zombie atmosphere in homage to our game. Behind all this seamless fun and entertainment is a slick team of efficient workers ensuring all logistics run like clockwork so all we had to do was enjoy the zombie cocktails and socialize. We would highly recommend this team for any of your event planning needs”

Best,
Ruth Spink, Slant Six Games

And here are a few of the comments that we received from the staff the morning after the party...

Hi Sarah,

I wanted to thank you again for all your hard work and for helping us throw the best Slant Six party yet! I had an amazing time and was blown away by how perfectly everything came together.

There are a ton of emails going around the office today about how much everyone enjoyed the party and I thought I’d share with you some of the feedback we’re getting:

This is the coolest party I’ve been to with so much detail, especially with the Raccoon City police car, Vector, Clare, Zombies, the G-virus dispenser, and the flip books. :)
I had a blast.  I would to thank everyone who helped out to make this amazing party possible. Thank you!”

“Thank you so much for such a brilliant party. Everything was perfect. I’m sure there are probably more people I should thank, but I’m not sure who they are, so please pass my thanks on to any and all applicable parties.”

“I’ve been to a fair number of Slant Six parties now, and this one was the best! Just fantastic on all levels – you guys outdid yourselves. :D
Thank you for a great night! :D”

that party was awesome – many thanks to everyone that had a hand it making it come together ! :) ”

I also wanted to send out a huge thank you to all involved with Friday night’s festivities.  It was the coolest wrap party I’ve ever been to. “

“It was incredible - I couldn’t believe the attention to detail. Just epic, thanks guys! :-D“

“Best party ever :)”

“That was truly awesome. Had the best time!
Thank you!”

“Awesome party you guys.
I can't imagine how much planning and coordination it took to pull all that together, there was so much going on.”

“It was one of the best events we have ever had!”

“Thank you for the most epic and dream come true party I've ever had!”

How much fun are Flipbooks? THIS MUCH!...

One of the fun elements that we incorporated into one of our recent events, the Slant Six Launch Party, was the ever growing in popularity Flipbook provided by Vancouver Flipbook.

This was so much fun, there was a line up of people wanting to get a piece of the action all night long.

Basically, you get in front of a camera, goof off for a few seconds and then presto! in 2 minutes you will have a custom flipbook that has captured your "performance".

Check out this great video from the Slant Six Launch Party that showcases some of the fun that the guests had.  Keep in mind that this was a Zombie party...

If you missed seeing the photos from this one of a kind event, check out the post here.

Vancouver Flipbook will provide all of the props and everything that you need to incorporate this great interactive activity into your event.

DreamGroup...More than just Fabulous Weddings! Zombies Anyone?

Once in a while we get the opportunity to plan special events which we love just as much as weddings.  And it's not often that we get to do something so out of the box.

Recently, Slant Six Games, a Vancouver Video Game company, hired DreamGroup to plan their Launch & Wrap party for their latest game, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.  If you aren't familiar with this hugely popular video game franchise it's all about Zombies that have taken over.

When I first heard about this opportunity I jumped at the chance to plan this event.  My husband is a video game designer (he works for a different company) and basically this was my two worlds colliding: Event Planning meets Video Games.  How fun!

The vision for this event was to create an environment where guests would basically be walking through Raccoon City...an abandoned city that had been overtaken by Zombies.

And the result?  Well, I'll let you take a look at the photos...and just a warning that some of these are a little gory.

As guests arrived at the party zombies were shuffling about...

...and trying to "eat" the helpless

Luckily some of the heros from the Video game were there to help protect the innocent guests

Tasty Zombie treats were created by Savoury Chef Foods

And guests enjoyed the T-virus cocktail through the Ice Luge (in the video game, the T-virus is what tranforms people into zombies)...and by the end of the night...

...most of the guests had been Zombiefied by our special FX makeup artists provided by Mink Makeup

Tunes were playing all night long courtesy of DJ Rich and..

Guests experienced Vancouver Flipbook where they acted out mini scenes with the Resident Zombies...

...Or they just relaxed and played the video game

When the guests entered this party they didn't know what they were about to walk into but they totally got into the spirit!

DG's Principal Planner on The Early Edition...

Friday, April 29th, following the wedding of a generation, DreamGroup's Principal Planner, Sarah Shore, reflected on the Royal Wedding with The Early Edition's Rick Cluff...click here to listen to the podcast!

From the natural decor of the Abby, the royal tradition of the bridal bouquet, and the stunning ivory lace wedding dress worn so elegantly by the bride, Sarah and Rick discuss the distinctive details of the Royal Wedding that will be remembered by generations to come.

Some surprises from this great affair were perhaps the modest size of Kate's bouquet and Pippa's ivory bridesmaids dress. Some possible trends? Lace and long sleeves; and a trend that will surely be seen throughout all details of the wedding will be Kate's simple, elegant style.

To replicate the Royal Wedding on a "commoner's" budget, brides can take inspiration from the decor, dress, menu and maybe even the fashionable hats and incorporate it into their own special day!

Prom Night...

On Saturday, March 26th the clocks were turned back to 1969! In celebration of Marianne's 60th birthday party DreamGroup Productions recreated Prom Night in the beautiful family home.

Guests were welcomed with boutonnieres & corsages at the door and as they entered the Prom they got to take their prom photo courtesy of Jeanie Ow to keep as mementos. Streamers, silver stars and pastel balloons set the scene, with popular tunes of the era played by Spin Doctor to complete the perfect prom night!

The beverage bar, provided by Lavish Liquid could be found in the glass atrium with a ceiling filled with multi-coloured balloons. As guests enjoyed drinks by the bar they were asked to fill out ballots to vote for the Prom King and Queen of the evening...

The birthday girl and her husband were crowned Prom King and Queen and celebrated the evening with friends and family, dancing the night away until the wee hours of the morning!
