Friday’s Fabulous Find: The Dirty Apron Cooking School

Need a great idea for an upcoming Bridal Shower? The Dirty Apron Cooking School is Vancouver’s favourite culinary playground. A place for amateur cooks, the curious and professionals alike to learn, explore, and unleash their inner chef.

Born out of a passion for great food the school is a joint venture between Karri and Nico Schuermans and former Chambar Sous-Chef David Robertson. David has a formidable background in classic French cuisines and will teach the majority of the classes, with guest and celebrity chef appearances peppered throughout the year.

Instruction focuses on popular regional cuisines as well as basic skill sets for ingredient-focused cooking. Students use only the best tools of the trade thanks to partnerships with All Clad cookware, Wusthof knives, Wolf ranges, and Sub Zero fridges.
The cooking classes that are offered are hands-on and designed to walk students through each step towards crafting a complete meal. Nightly classes feature various themes and are approximately four hours in length, whereas daytime classes are structured as a week long, bootcamp style format, running for approximately six hours each day.
