Day 4 of DG's 12 Days of Xmas!
As part of your wedding ceremony you may consider lighting a unity candle... The unity candle ceremony uses two taper candles to light a large pillar candle. At the beginning of a ceremony two representatives from each family (traditionally the mothers of the bride and groom) light the two taper candles. Later in the ceremony, the bride and groom use the two taper candles to light the large pillar candle together symbolizing their 'union'. This union ceremony can also be done by pouring two shades of sand together.
